Today was marvelous.

I had this really incredible lesson with Dana where she was very cute and Russian as usually. She told me she thought I was playing better today than she had ever heard me before and that today was probably the best lesson I'd ever had with her. These are huge compliments from her considering her normal compliment consists of "You didn't make such a bad job as you did last week."

Making Music training didn't completely bomb ... which is much better than I thought it would be.

Also, I don't think I've expressed my love for Professor Barnes ... but I enjoy his classes so much. He is such a linguistics dork. It's absolutely marvelous because he makes all of these ridiculous little linguistics jokes that are actually very funny ... if you are as un-cool as me.

I've also been listening to a lot of Jeff Buckley lately. He makes my heart hurt with happiness. I would like to thank Catherine Resnick for introducing me to the glory that is Jeff Buckley at Killington about 7 years ago.

Speaking of Catherine - I get to see her this weekend! Yay for that. I'm really tremendously happy to go to New York this weekend. I really need a break from Gap Kids ... and Orientation ... and the CSC ... and RAing ... and class ... and Boston. I never really got much of a vacation this summer because I contracted SARS on my one week vacation. I picked the perfect weekend to go too ... Catherine will be there, Maddy and Kim, Geni. Fun times for all shall be had. (Taking both Syntax and Morphology simultaneously have seriously messed with my idea of grammaticality. I see sentences now that I am insistent cannot exist in English ... even if they can. Likewise, I write sentences where the word order is completely skewed or half the words do not exist ... or both ... and think nothing of it. I apologize if I am completely incoherent because of this.)

ALSO ... Rob gave me his George Forman Grill. Hooray for this. This means I can now cook chicken and start having protein in my diet. Yay for Rob. (It's time for another lengthy parenthetical aside: Rob also gave me the padlock for my bathroom door. Why might Melissa need a padlock for her bathroom door you ask? Well, the bathroom has two doors (first of all you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, which is slightly shady). The first door separates Mr. Bathroom from Mr. Kitchen. This door does NOT need a large lock. The second door is adjacent to my shower. This door leads to the B&G closet/break room. B&G is the university's custodial staff - for all you non-BUers. This room has another door that remains unlocked and leads into the hallway of my building. This basically means anyone could enter my bathroom and, in turn, my apartment at any time .... when I'm sleeping, showering, etc. Creepy. Thus, Rob bought me the lock and is officially my hero). In close - Rob is marvelous. +1000 extra super bonus points to him. -100 bonus points to whoever decided that we can't have heat in our buildings. Also -100 bonus points to the frat boys next door who are continuously excessively creepy.
