This is going to be a random ramblings entry ...

The Dean's Office is a great place to work. Not only have I been told by an anonymous caller that I am "part of the vast conspiracies and cover-up schemes of American universities" and had to take down messages a number of times that "Silber [our chancellor/interim president] Sucks," I have now received the ultimate Crazy Caller. This mother called, livid and screeching into the phone, to complain about her daughter's dorm room. She started off by saying that her daughter lives in Warren Towers ... I was thinking "geez, here comes the complaint about the tiny cement block rooms ... or the terrible roommate ... " Then she said, "Not only am I paying vast amounts of money for my daughter to have a room without cable, but her television reception is TERRIBLE! She can't even get NBC!!" I nearly cried trying not to burst out laughing. I'm not sure exactly what she wanted of me. When you put three 18-story towers in one building, there are some rooms that are bound not to have good reception ... and I seemed to think that her daughter was here for an education ... not tv. I could be wrong.

The Dean's Office is also great because I get to log in all the mail. Last week, by mistake, we got a Playboy (which was addressed to a student ...). It led to much much humour.

Jess and Carrie are great. They put up with my emotional breakdown in the middle of the GSU, contributed with their Boys Suck propoganda, and are just marvelous people in general. Also, my Jessie sent me a song. To quote her: You know what would make you feel better the song "Were You Born an Asshole" by Mr. Jimmy Buffett. This song is hysterical. If any of y'all want to hear it, IM me and I'll send it to you.

Speaking of great songs ... Matt Caplan is just way too amazing for words. I love all of the new musics that Kat sent me ... I just want more and more and more though.

I love Alison. I never really get to see her/talk to her/stay up late into the night being girly talking about boys and other silly girly things with her. We hung out for a little tonight ... but being her roommate was just so much FUN.

Speaking of roommates (I'm rackin' up the segues tonight!), Frave is great. I do not know what I shall do when both she and Ali are in England next fall. (Correct answer ... go visit them in England, for one.)

As a general observation, my social group has changed immensely from freshman year. Really, I'm only super close to Ellen, still. Though, I talk to Gavin, Beth, Logan, Deb and a couple of others ... I also renewed my Chris Frontiero love this summer ... but overall ... most of the people I hang out with I didn't even know freshman year. A lot of them I didn't even know before this summer.

My shoulders hurt. This is unfair for a number of reasons. Also unfair: I have two canker sores. As if one wouldn't be enough. I feel like the canker sore gods are just showing off and being extravagent. "Hah! You think that's pain? Try this!"

Let's talk about how happy I am that Slow Kids wrote a gun control sketch. We're all of a sudden going all political. It's awesome.

There are certain numbers that I should only see on the clock once a day: They include 5, 6, 7, 8, and sometimes 9.

Those are all the rants I have for now.
