27 May 2002 - 9:21 p.m. I'm listening to the Red Wings right now, feeling slightly homesick. Not really homesick. I'm enjoying Boston far too much to be truly homesick. There are certain things I wish I could either bring from Chesaning to Boston, or from Boston to Chesaning. I would bring my daddy here from Chesaning. There are a number of reasons that having Daddy Baese here would be great. I miss watching hockey with him. A lot. Hockey is 87 times more fun when you're sitting in the Baese living room, listening to me ask random questions ... daddy saying "Just watch the game!" and pretending to be frustrated when I start asking more questions. The best part is when something really good or really bad happens. Daddy and I go NUTS. We're crazy. I get so nervous and panicky when I watch .... and my dad, being how he is, is completely calm. As I flinch each time Hasek has to make a save, my dad's saying "It's okay ... don't worry ..." I say, "but dad, did you see when --" "JUST WATCH THE GAME!" If the Wings manage to beat the Avs, I'm going to be CRAZY during the finals. I might as well spend the entire game on the phone with my dad ... I'd also bring my mom here. We'd go shopping and watch movies ... I miss that from last summer with my mommy. I'd bring Rachael here. I miss Rachael more than I can even believe. Everytime something happens, I wish I could just call her and tell her all about it. I miss the Dewey household ("CHRIS! GET OUT OF HERE!") ... I'd bring my Girls' Night girls here. I would certainly be caught up on the CHS gossip (thanks to Jenn) and would be able to spend plenty of time laughing like crazy ... Shantel, Jenni, Jenny, Kelly should come visit so we can have a Girls' Night Boston! I'd bring my cousin Molly ... and for that matter my cousin Madelyn. I have the best family in the world. That's all. I'd bring my Chesaning boys. Travis is actually coming to visit this summer (insert your gasp of surprise here ____). But the rest of my boys are probably going to be MIA this summer. I miss them. A lot. I'd bring Megs, Kerri, and the rest of the cool kids club, including Tim, Matt, and BJ. Biggs hats and all. I'd bring other stuff from Michigan here too ... I'd bring Ann Arbor (yes, the whole town ... but specifically Shar Music and Alf Studios). I'd bring Meijer (also known as College Student Heaven -- 24 hour grocery store combined with a Wal-Mart-esque store. Life doesn't get any better than that). I'd bring Showboat Restaurant's blackened chicken caesar salad, black bean veggie burger, california club, and buffalo style chicken tenders. I'd bring the Showboat Parade. I'd bring my dog, Kaleb. I'd bring my car. I'd bring the Playscape. I'd bring The Christmas Walk (who cares if it's summer? I want my stinkin' Christmas Walk!). I'd bring Dottie's Deli, Lasting Expressions, and the really big suckers they sell at the Carriage House. I'd bring the Sassy Sandwich from Owosso ... because that's the only place you can get coffee. Okay, so I cheated and listed things from Owosso and from Ann Arbor. There are still lots of things I miss. A lot. I love my Chesaning kids and I miss them all a lot.
